Alumnus
In 1932, then senior student George Gemenetzis took over as editor-in-chief of the student publication The Anatolian, which had been revived in Thessaloniki in 1928, a tradition that had begun in Merzifon to strengthen the connection that Anatolia alumni have with their old school in every corner of the world. In 1950, as President of the Alumni Association, George Yemenetzis, coordinated a committee to provide active support to the devastated village of Lefkohori, which had been the target of guerrilla attacks, having been cut off from vital supplies. The aim of the “Lefkohori Committee” was to provide supplies and equipment, as well as to improve sanitary conditions and support education.
