Anatolia College has always attracted individuals dedicated to supporting its educational mission and vision. One such case was Frank (Phanos) and Antigone Raphael, refugees from Asia Minor who succeeded in Detroit and formed a profound bond with Anatolia.
Their generous financial support strengthened the College’s endowment, providing scholarships to many students and enabling them to participate each summer in a six-week program at the Northfield Mount Hermon School in the United States. Through this initiative, Anatolia students broadened their horizons, enhanced their education, and gained invaluable experiences in an international setting.
In recognition of the couple’s long-standing and invaluable contributions, Anatolia College named one of its amphitheaters after them in 1993. This act honors their memory and generosity, highlighting the power of giving and their deep love for education and Anatolia’s values.
