Its goal was to meet the educational needs of the children of American and European government representatives and delegations in Thessaloniki, and it soon evolved into a pillar of local and global significance for the city. It is one of the first and few schools supported by the US Department of State worldwide. Throughout its history, every US Consul General in Thessaloniki has served on Pinewood&#8217;s Board of Directors.
