Their efforts were bolstered by Mary S. Hill (later Mrs James Surpless), a Carlton College graduate who had come to teach in the Girls School in the late 20s. After returning to Chicago she joined Anatolia Board as its youngest trustee for over 40 years. She was an outstanding example of the bonding of Young American teachers with Anatolia that redounded to the school\u2019s long- term benefit. Mary Hill was a contributor of the Kenilworth Union Church a relationship that was further cultivated for the benefit of Anatolia College.
