Hall Educational Endowment, a donation of $50,000 was made to Anatolia College in 1919 in memory of the American inventor, chemist and entrepreneur. The donation was contingent on a single condition: this bequest excluded the teaching of theology. It was therefore necessary that Anatolia have a separate Board of Trustees, which would not be tied to the Audit Committee of the American Council, although members of the latter could still participate in the new scheme. With this change, personalities from other circles could serve as Trustees of the school and thus Anatolia College gained an autonomous financial base.
